Ce 06 décembre 2022, la maison Chanel sera à Dakar pour dévoiler sa nouvelle collection Métiers d’art 2022-2023.

After Tokyo, Shanghai, New York, and Edinburgh,  the Chanel house  resumed the adventure and went to the African continent to boast of its inventive heritage and the richness of its creations.

By deciding on this new objective,  Chanel  intends to make the expertise of its Métiers d’art resonate with the ingenious and cultural energy of this city. Dakar continues to imagine and improve, displaying a status that is still unequaled in Africa. This is the meeting place for chic designers. A showcase of crafts, art and culture that has managed to rethink itself while protecting its institutions.

This same equivalent energy for craftsmanship and know-how that is at the origin of  Chanel ‘s Métiers d’art collections  and the impulse of the late  Karl Lagerfeld .

Each year, the fashion show pays tribute to the excellence of craftsmen’s know-how through an ingenious organization that offers the creation of extraordinary collections.

On this occasion, the  Chanel style house  plans to promote the benefits of craftsmanship and African continental art through exhibitions, workshops and discussions.

On October 3, the Belgian cultural center Bozar in Brussels presents as part of the Afropolitan Forum the premiere of Les  Gestes de Saint-Louis , a Belgian film without dialogue whose only components are dance, the sounds of the city of Saint-Louis (Senegal) and music. This production is the result of a collaboration between the Senegalese contemporary dance company Diagn’art and the Belgian and Swiss artists Kita Bauchet and Stéphanie Pfister. The screening of the film will be preceded by the contemporary dance show  Siki  by performer Alioune Diagne, choreographer and self-taught dancer who lives and works in Saint-Louis.
